The Heritage Collection from Chesapeake Bay Candle®

Hooray! We made it through another school year! Or in my son’s own words: “I can’t believe we made it through second grade. It was a nightmare!” – Ha, ha! You gotta love kids’ honesty.
Lucky for us, we have 10 weeks to relax and recharge. And, I am kicking up my summer by experiencing the refreshing, soothing, and energizing scents of the Heritage Collection candles from Chesapeake Bay Candle.
One of my lifelong dreams is to live in a house on the beach. The feeling of calmness of the ocean view, the simple living, the bare feet, the ocean breeze, the natural light…all of my favorite things. Maybe because I am a writer and avid reader, my spirit longs for those quiet, peaceful moments that the oceanside offers.
Although, we only live 6 miles away from the shoreline, finding a moment to escape to the beach isn’t easy, because life!
It’s a whole different game when your front porch faces the ocean. I live the beach life vicariously through HGTV shows, Pinterest, our vacation pictures, and of course, through Chesapeake Bay Candle’s amazing soy candles.
About Chesapeake Bay Candle and The Heritage Collection
Last summer, I had the opportunity to work with Chesapeake Bay Candle for the first time. The candles collection I reviewed then, inspired me to write a guide on how to choose candle scents to match your mood. Since then, I am more mindful when choosing the candles I lit at home, at the right time.
The Heritage Collection is the perfect combination of nature-inspired fragrances that take me to summer days at the beach. So when I crave that relaxed, soothing feeling of the ocean breeze at home, I resort to these perfectly crafted candles.
Chesapeake Bay Candle brand has been synonymous with stylish design and nature-inspired fragrances since 1994. Inspired by the simple, clean, basic lines of their first collection, but with a modern and updated feel, the Heritage Collection embraces the natural, rustic charm of the Bay.
One of the features that make me love this collection even more, is the frosted clear glass of each jar. It mimics the texture of sea glass, brushed by the ocean air, bringing the beauty of the coastal lifestyle into our home.
Aqua Marine
The Aqua Marine Coffe Table Jar Candle is the perfect reflection of this shoreline-inspired collection. With fresh notes of bergamot, lemon zest, marine accord, and pineapple as the top fragrances.
Medium ozonic notes of lily, lotus, and seagrass, reflect the sand and the surf. Lastly, there are a few notes of musk and sandalwood to balance out the warm and relaxing atmosphere.
The Aqua Marine fragrance is very mild when the candle is not lit, but when lit, the three burning wicks disperse the amazing scent in no time. This candle belongs to the Aquatic fragrance family, with essential oils of eucalyptus, fir, lemon, Valencia orange, and petitgrain.
Bay Cottage
The Bay Cottage Large Jar Candle was one of the fragrances I was looking forward to smelling. In fact, it was the first jar I opened. This fragrance is very comforting, it reminds me a lot of ‘Snuggly Sweater’, one of the candles I tried last year, which I adore, and burn every night in our family room. What they have in common are the notes of herbal lavender, amber, and rose.
Bay Cottage stays true to its name, with a fragrance of cotton and fresh air. It captures as well the scent of a clean linen blanket and cottage woods of white amber, sandalwood, and musk.
Bay Cottage belongs to the Ozonic family and includes Patchouli essential oils.
Cypress & Oak
The Cypress & Oak Reed Diffuser resembles a morning walk on a nature trail. There are refreshing notes of evergreen and cypress trees.
The citrus, spearmint, and eucalyptus blend with woody balsam, oak, and lavender make this fragrance very invigorating. Although it does not remind me of a summer day at the beach, it is definitely energizing and comforting.
This fragrance belongs to the fir family and includes essential oils of thyme and rosemary.
Driftwood & Amber
As soon as you lift the lid off of the Driftwood & Amber Small Jar Candle, you’re transported to the beach. Not to the beach house, but to the actual beach. Hot sand and all. What does the beach smell like, though? First, the sweetness of the gardenia and cashmere-infused vanilla, then, a hint of coconut. Coconut is one of my favorite flavors to try on everything. It reminds me so much of my childhood.
There are notes of driftwood on a musky base of sandalwood and amber. This jar is my favorite of all presentations, it’s small and portable. Perfect for my home office.
The Driftwood & Amber candle includes eucalyptus, linseed, and tagetes essential oils.
Sea Salt Coconut
Another fragrance that swept me off my feet was this Sea Salt Coconut Double Wick Tin Candle. The presentation is beautiful, in a very unique galvanized tin that resembles the wear of metal exposed to the salty air.
Chesapeake Bay Candle describes this fragrance as “a breath of fresh air”. A mix of marine salt, citron water with notes of sun-kissed coconut shavings, sweet orange blossom, musk, and earthy driftwood, reminiscent of a long summer day.
There are also touches of orange peel, sunflower, and cyclamen. I will surely purchase this candle over and over again. The Sea Salt Coconut candle belongs to the floral aquatic fragrance family and it includes pink grapefruit and orange essential oils.
The double wick allows the wide candle to burn evenly, and I adore the reflection of the fire on the tin walls. A very soothing sight. Another favorite presentation.

Lit or not, they look stunning in our family room.
The fragrances are perfectly balanced, the presentation is beyond beautiful, it’s modern, clean, and classy. They blend beautifully with any home decor and make a perfect gift.
