Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Baby Shower

Two weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to style this beautiful Twinkle Twinkle Little Star gender neutral baby shower for one of my dearest friends. As I write this post today, she’s been discharged from the hospital after the arrival of a beautiful and healthy baby boy.

But, two weeks ago, we had no clue what she was having! I still don’t know how she was able to manage the uncertainty for the last nine months. I could never do that. But, it sure was a great pleasure to style the room with neutral touches of white, ivory, silver and gold, and break the mold of pinks and blues.

I would not take total credit for the styling of this stunning event, as it was a vision that the mom-to-be and her close friends had. I took their ideas and supplies, added my own personal touches, and executed them. It was great teamwork. I took many pictures; it was hard to choose for this post. Forgive me if you see too many. I promise this is literally ‘eye candy.’

Below there is a detailed explanation of the decor. You will also be able to find a list of all the resources at the end of the post.

Table Settings for a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Baby Shower

For simple, yet chic and stylish table settings, we used ivory linens, white plates, silver utensils and crystal clear champagne glasses for a toast!

But don’t let those shiny and stunning table settings fool you… it is all shatterproof and disposable!

For centerpieces, the mom-to-be chose classic glass mason jars spray-painted in metallic gold and filled with baby’s breath. It’s amazing how the simplicity of these centerpieces adds such an elegant touch to the tables.

I tied the napkins with handmade glittered stars napkin ties.

Wishes for the New Big Sister Table and Favors Table

Coming up with a comfortable table layout was a bit difficult. We needed to accommodate 24 guests and still have room for a candy bar, a ‘Wishes for the new big sister’ table, a table for the food buffet, an extra table for favors, a diaper cake, game cards, and presents. We moved those tables around several times. But we made it work!

The ‘Wishes for the new big sister’ table featured a rustic-chic mercury glass hurricane vase. filled with sand and purple glitter. We hung a gorgeous purple ombré mobile above the table to add charm to the corner.

A stack of glittered stars was cut and laid out for the guests to write wishes for the new big sister.

The framed artwork reads:  “Wish they may wish they might make a wish for the new big sister to read at night”

On the opposite corner, we set up a table for the diaper cake, favors, game cards, and pens.

I filled up an apothecary mercury glass jar with pens wrapped in gold polka dot washi tape and topped them with glittered stars. Such a beautiful touch!

Favors for a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Baby Shower

One of my favorite touches was this silver tray holding the favors. The favors consisted of miniature handmade organic coconut soaps wrapped in a label that read: “From Jessica’s Shower to yours!”.

I slipped them inside ivory and gold organza bags and sprinkled them with miniature gold stars confetti. The confetti stuck to the soap, it looked like the soap came this way! It worked out perfectly!

Candy Bar for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Baby Shower

I wanted to leave the star (no pun intended! ) of this event for last. The candy bar was like a picture from Pinterest came to life in the room.

The bummer for me -because I am still working on my photography skills- was having the light behind the candy bar because it was hard to photograph. But it all came together beautifully. I am not sure if I could recreate it one day. The room lends itself to this theme, as it is decorated with gold and ivory tones. The curtains served as the perfect background for the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star banner and star garlands, and I made a gold and white tassels banner that added the perfect amount of bling to the table.

We flanked each end of the table with tall glass cylinder vases filled with white carnations and baby’s breath. Sweets galore spread all over the table. Cupcakes, Sixlets, star-shaped lollipops, star-shaped rice Krispies treats, rock candy sticks, you name it. See for yourself!

Glittered star-shaped cupcake toppers decorated the plain vanilla cupcakes we sprinkled with edible gold powder.

Apothecary jars were filled with butter mints in gold wrappers, pretzels, and gold foiled chocolate balls.

I framed an original artwork reading ‘Sweet Treats’ (available at our shop for instant download) and centered it on the table.

Shimmer white Sixlets in a square glass vase were the base to display white chocolate stars. There were stars everywhere, as you can see in the image below!

  1. Hello, I love this shower theme. Everything looks so beautiful. Where did you get the soap from? I would love to use this for my sisters shower.

  2. Beautiful theme for a neutral baby shower;
you did a wonderful job. Question, what’s the best way to print off the sign from your shop to achieve the glittery look? Can this be achieved at home or should I have it printed at a store?

    Thank you!

    1. Hello Sarah, thank you so much! I have always printed these signs at home with my regular inkjet color printer. Including the one you see in the baby shower pictures. The copy centers print on laser printers, and I am not sure how the output would be. It shouldn’t be much different. Did you try at home first?

  3. Having a baby shower for my daughter. Love the baby bottles with straws. Would like to fill with lemonade for the tables. Where can I buy them?

    1. Hi Laura, the cake you see in the pictures is a diaper cake. I did not make it, a friend of a friend did! Sorry, I can not be of much help, but I appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  4. Everything looked just beautiful – hosting a baby shower for my daughter and would love to use the idea of the baby bottles for mimosas – can you let me in on where you purchased them ?

  5. Absolutely beautiful display! I am stealing this idea for a baby shower I will be throwing soon. Can I ask where you got the tall white vases with the gold polka dots? Love them! Thanks!

    1. Thank you, Courtney! Easy. The vases are clear glass. I just cut out wrapping paper and taped it on the inside. Then, I placed a mason jar with water inside the vase and I placed the flowers inside the jar, to avoid getting the paper wet. Neat, right? 🙂

  6. I bought and downloaded the instant download “Sweet Treats”, but I could not open the pdf file. I tried on two different computers.

  7. Flavia- You’re amazing. Your talents transformed my sprinkle into everything I ever imagined and more. Your attention to detail is remarkable. Thank you for sharing your creativity with me.

    1. It was a great pleasure to be able to help and make this day so memorable for you. I love what I do, and I enjoy it even more when it is for the ones I love! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this special day! XO

  8. What an imaginative theme…very different from the usual pink and blue. Looks like you did a lot of the work yourself which must not only be creatively satisfying but saves the host as well and when you have a vision and it isn’t available, we all need to find a way to make that vision complete! I will be giving a shower in the next 3 months and am a little clueless about what we will be doing…but we do know it is a BOY!

  9. Starting to plan a shower for my niece and I LOVE this idea. She knows it’s a girl so I think I will add in a sprinkling of pink!
