I have worked behind the scenes of this blog since October of 2013, and now that is live, I will answer on this page frequently asked questions (FAQs) I am asked when I
babble talk about it.
1. How did you come up with the name: Neat House. Sweet Home™?
I have always had an obsession for organizing and classifying things of the same sort. Sometimes too much!
My ‘aha! moment’ happened by the kitchen sink while washing an old and shabby cookie sheet. I looked at it and I said to myself: “If I could only keep my baking supplies and gear more organized and perfectly sorted, my cookies and ‘my life’ will be sweeter.”
And then, it hit me.
A neat and organized house, where there is a place for everything and everything is in its place, translates into a happy and sweet home.
We would spend less time looking for things, and more quality time enjoying them. Why the cookie sheet brought this thought to mind? – you may ask.
That cookie sheet was shot! I wondered why I never took the time to toss it or recycle it and use the ones I have bought a few months before. It was just lack of organization. The new ones were still in their original packaging inside a different cabinet. Needless to say, the cookie sheet went to the recycling bin and this journey started.
I purchased the domain the next day 🙂
2. Are you still going to design and style parties?
Of course! Posh Paper Parties is my ‘baby’. I enjoy designing graphics, giving advice and delivering beautiful products to my customers all over the world. I love keeping busy with orders and deadlines and I will work on them as long as the business keeps bringing me joy and stays profitable and productive.
3. What are e-How contributions?
Besides being a full-time mom and housewife, a full-time Etsy seller and a part-time blogger, I am also a freelance writer for Demand Media Studios®.
I contribute writing articles about DIY projects that are published on ehow.com. Every time an article is published, I add an excerpt here on NHSH.
You can browse all my contributions here.
4. What camera do you use for your blog?
I am new to this, but I think it’s safe to say that I know more about photography today than I did a few years ago.
I used to use a regular point and shoot during my first years of blogging at One Cute Nursery. When my Etsy shop demanded better pictures of my products and events, and blogging demanded better pictures of my projects, I invested on a DSRL camera.
My current camera is a Canon Rebel T3i.
These are the lenses I use:
and my latest addition ( I am in LOVE 🙂 )
